We want to completely change the fibre network in London (and beyond), and we’re on the hunt for smart, talented people to join us.

At Vorboss, we do the right thing—no matter what. Our unwavering focus on engineering excellence and unrivalled commitment to customer service is trusted by the most important organisations across the UK and Europe in the technology, pharmaceutical, financial, and e-commerce industries.

We’re proud to have earned one of the best reputations in the industry, and it is essential to us that we maintain that reputation as we grow. Our team is tight knit and highly talented. We trust each other to do the right thing, take responsibility, and be a champion for our collective success.

We’re looking for talented, smart people to join us as we embark on this exciting period of growth. Our vision for Vorboss is to be ‘the best job that someone ever had’, regardless of how long they stay with us, and promise to provide a supportive workplace based on respect and trust.

We started by building London’s largest fibre network and are then expanded to provide the full range of IT and cybersecurity services that modern businesses rely on. Our goal is simple: give London businesses a single, trusted partner for everything from connectivity to managed IT and cyber protection.

Role overview:

Our customers notice two things about a new service: whether it arrives on the day we said, and whether it works first time. Both depend on everything flowing cleanly through our provisioning systems, from the order and the port allocation through to configuration and handover. This role exists to make sure it does.

Most of the heavy lifting is automated. You will run that automation day to day, handle the steps that still need a person, and when something gets in the way, go and find out why and fix it. The job is less about typing configuration and more about knowing what to do when an order does not go to plan.

The role reports to the Chief Networks Officer and work closely with Networks, Service Delivery, the Service Desk, and our field engineers. It is office based, with time in our datacentres. There is no on-call rota for this role.

Key responsibilities:

(Please note that this list is not exhaustive)

  • Run the provisioning workflow day to day, picking up anything that fails or stalls and seeing it through to completion.
  • Prepare and configure customer equipment for dispatch from approved templates, working with the warehouse and field engineers.
  • Allocate ports and fibre panels, and record every change in the source of truth as you go.
  • Provision datacentre services, including letters of authority, cross connect orders, and patching.
  • Investigate provisioning issues, work out where they came from, and resolve them or get them to the right person quickly.
  • Keep port reservations, decommissioned records, and service data accurate, so that the automation keeps working.
  • Spot recurring failures and manual workarounds, and feed them back so that they get fixed properly rather than worked around.
  • Raise change requests for anything outside standard configuration, and hand non-standard designs to Networks.
  • Support field engineers during service turn-up.
  • Give Service Delivery a clear picture of where each order is stuck from a network perspective and what is needed to move it.
  • Communicate clearly in writing and on the phone, to colleagues and to customers.

The right candidate:

Essential

  • Experience in a provisioning, service delivery, or technical support role, ideally in a service provider, ISP, or carrier environment.
  • Working knowledge of networking fundamentals: VLANs, IP addressing, and how a service is built end to end.
  • Familiarity with Layer 2 Ethernet services, including VLAN tagging and the basics of Q-in-Q.
  • An understanding of Layer 3 services and the protocols behind resilience and failover, such as BGP and VRRP.
  • Methodical with data, and comfortable working a queue and an automated workflow without being told what is next.
  • A problem solver who follows an issue to its cause rather than working around it.
  • Clear communicator with warehouse, field, and Service Desk colleagues, and with customers when needed.

Desirable

  • Familiarity with a network source of truth or workflow tooling.
  • Exposure to service provider equipment. We run Nokia, Juniper, RAD, and ADVA across our core and customer networks.
  • Experience with Layer 1 fibre networks and datacentre cross connects.
  • CCNA, JNCIA, or equivalent. Certifications can be obtained after joining, and we will support you through them.
