London-based Vorboss Strengthens Corporate Affairs Team to Take on Telecoms Giants

This is some text inside of a div block.

22 February 2024 – Vorboss, London’s leading provider of direct internet connectivity for business, has strengthened its Corporate Affairs team as it positions itself for future growth against telecom giants BT, and reinforces its ability to navigate regulatory and policy landscapes.

Casey Calista joins as Head of Policy and Public Affairs, having previously established the technology public affairs practice at London’s Hill & Knowlton. Casey is also the Chair of Labour Digital. Laura Holdgate joins as Head of Regulatory Affairs, having led Telecoms Policy work for the consumer champion Which?, and been a competition economist at Ofcom prior to that. Howard Jones is Vorboss’ new Head of Communications, and brings a wealth of telecoms experience gained at EE, BT, Vodafone and, most recently, Hyperoptic.

The new Corporate Affairs team, led by Chief Corporate Affairs Officer James Fredrickson who joined from Hyperoptic in September 2023, will play a pivotal role in shaping Vorboss’ strategic direction.

James commented:

“We’re building a team that has the knowledge, skill and experience to guide us through what is becoming an increasingly complex regulatory and policy environment.
Recent policy discussion has focused almost entirely on enabling gigabit-capable broadband. Whilst that is laudable as a nation-wide goal, the business connectivity market has very different needs. Now that cloud-enabled data sharing underpins even basic work tasks, resilient, dedicated high bandwidth is fundamental to business activity, and critical to the UK’s economic success. Helping businesses navigate the connectivity market will become a means to drive UK productivity, and Vorboss is meeting that challenge head on.”

Earlier this month, Vorboss announced the appointment of David Gilbey as CFO.

Vorboss provides direct internet connectivity to businesses across London, setting new standards in reliability, resilience, security and value. Vorboss is committed to diversity in its workforce, and runs its own training academy to ensure the best quality engineers from a wide range of backgrounds. Vorboss’ engineering and technician team is more than one third women, and the company is targeting at least 50% by 2027.
